Sometimes it’s not what’s happening around you…
It’s what’s happening in your head.
Thought after thought.
One on top of another.
Faster than you can sort through.
You try to slow it down,
but it just keeps going.
Replaying things.
Worrying about things.
Creating things that haven’t even happened yet.
And the harder you try to stop it,
the louder it feels.
If your mind feels like that right now,
you’re not broken.
This happens more than people admit.
Especially when you’ve been carrying a lot for a long time.
Your brain isn’t trying to hurt you.
It’s trying to protect you.
It just doesn’t always know when to stop.
So instead of trying to silence everything…
try this instead.
Let the thoughts be there.
But don’t follow every one of them.
You don’t have to solve every thought.
You don’t have to answer every fear.
Some thoughts can just pass through.
Like noise in the background.
You can sit with them
without chasing them.
And if that feels hard…
just come back to something simple.
Your breath.
The feeling of your feet on the ground.
The room you’re in.
Not to fix anything.
Just to give your mind a place to rest for a moment.
You don’t need a perfectly quiet mind.
You just need a small space inside it.
And that space…
even if it’s brief…
can be enough to take the edge off.
You’re not losing control.
Your mind is just overwhelmed.
And it will slow down again.
Not all at once.
But gradually.
Stay here.
You’re okay.
